About 88Finder
A small, independent site built to make farm work in Australia less of a maze for Working Holiday Visa backpackers.
Why 88Finder exists
The 88-day farm work requirement for a second-year Working Holiday Visa in Australia is one of the most stressful parts of the WHV experience. Information is scattered across Facebook groups, outdated forum posts, employer-side job boards, and unreliable word of mouth. Scams targeting backpackers are well documented — underpaid work, fake job offers, accommodation traps.
88Finder started as a simple idea: a single place that lists farms verified to actually qualify for the 88-day requirement, ranked by their reliability rather than by who paid to be at the top. From there it grew into a free directory, a 88-days calculator, a guide library, and an optional Premium tracker that handles payslip OCR for users who want to keep a clean record for their visa application.
What 88Finder is — and what it isn’t
We are
- • An editorial farm directory focused on the WHV community
- • A guide hub for the 88-day visa rules
- • A payslip tracker for Premium users (optional)
- • A small, founder-run business
We are not
- • A government website or visa-issuing authority
- • A recruiter or labour-hire agency
- • A pay-to-rank job board (farms can’t buy a higher ranking)
- • Affiliated with the Department of Home Affairs
Editorial principles
Farms are ranked by an internal reliability score — based on visa qualification status, postcode eligibility, employer track record, and community signals — never by advertising payment. Farms cannot pay to appear higher.
Affiliate partnerships are disclosed. Some pages contain affiliate links (currently: Wise for money transfers). When you click and sign up, 88Finder receives a commission at no additional cost to you. We only feature services we’ve actually used and would recommend regardless of the partnership. See the Privacy Policy for full detail.
Advertising is shown to free users only. Premium subscribers and Season Pass holders never see ads. Ad networks (Google AdSense) have no influence on editorial decisions or farm rankings.
We don’t store your payslip files. When you upload a payslip to the Premium tracker, the file is processed in memory by our AI extraction service and immediately discarded — only the structured data (employer, dates, hours) is saved to your account.
Who’s behind 88Finder
88Finder is built and operated by Siam & Co., a small independent software studio based in Bangkok, Thailand. The site is a solo-founder project — one person doing the writing, the coding, the customer support, and the farm-verification work. No outside investors, no venture capital, no growth-at-all-costs roadmap.
If you ever email support@88finder.com, you’re writing directly to the founder. Replies typically come within 24-48 hours on weekdays. For urgent visa-deadline questions, replies are usually faster.
How 88Finder makes money
Transparency on this matters — you should know the incentives behind any site you trust for visa-related decisions. 88Finder is funded by three sources, in order of importance:
- Premium subscriptions and Season Pass purchases. Backpackers who use the payslip tracker pay either a monthly subscription or a one-time Season Pass that covers the duration of their 88 days. This is the primary revenue source.
- Affiliate commissions. When users sign up to partner services through 88Finder links (currently just Wise), we receive a referral commission. Disclosed on every placement.
- Display advertising (free users only). Google AdSense ads are shown to free and anonymous visitors on a small number of pages. Paying users never see ads.
