2.1. Payslip Processing & 88 Days Tracker
Important: File Privacy Protection
We DO NOT store your payslip files. When you upload a payslip image (JPG/JPEG), we extract only the necessary data (employer name, dates, hours) and immediately delete the file. Your original payslip images are never saved to our servers or databases.
For Premium users who use our 88 Days Tracker feature, we collect and process the following payslip-related information:
Data We Extract and Store:
- • Employer Information: Business name and ABN (Australian Business Number)
- • Work Period: Start date and end date of employment
- • Hours Worked: Total hours worked during the period
- • Weeks Worked: Number of weeks in the work period
- • Calculated Days: Estimated eligible days towards 88-day visa requirement
- • Upload Metadata: Upload date, validation status, and user ID
OCR Processing via N8N:
We use N8N (an open-source workflow automation tool) to process payslip images through Optical Character Recognition (OCR). Here's how it works:
- • Step 1: You upload a payslip image (JPG/JPEG format only)
- • Step 2: The image is temporarily sent to our N8N workflow for OCR processing
- • Step 3: N8N extracts text data (employer name, dates, hours) from the image
- • Step 4: Extracted data is returned to our system and saved to your account
- • Step 5: The original image file is immediately deleted from all systems
- • Processing Time: Typically 5-15 seconds
- • Data Retention: N8N does not retain any payslip data after processing
N8N Data Processing Agreement:
We have implemented appropriate technical and organizational measures for N8N processing:
- • Self-Hosted: Our N8N instance is self-hosted on secure infrastructure
- • Encryption: All data transmitted to/from N8N is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS
- • No Third-Party Access: Payslip images are not sent to external OCR services
- • Automatic Deletion: All temporary files are deleted within 60 seconds of processing
- • Access Control: Only authorized system processes can access N8N workflows
- • Audit Logs: All processing activities are logged for security monitoring
Your Rights Regarding Payslip Data:
- • View Data: You can view all extracted payslip data in your 88 Days Tracker
- • Edit Data: You can manually correct any OCR errors before validation
- • Delete Data: You can delete any payslip entry at any time
- • Export Data: You can request a full export of your payslip data
- • Validation Control: Draft payslips remain editable until you validate them

Important: The 88 Days Tracker is a tool to help you estimate your progress. OCR extraction may contain errors. You are responsible for verifying all extracted data before validation. The calculated "eligible days" are estimates only and do not constitute legal advice. Always verify your visa eligibility with the Australian Department of Home Affairs.

All service providers are contractually obligated to process your data only as instructed and to maintain appropriate security measures. Our N8N instance is self-hosted and does not share data with external parties.
6. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Data Breach Notification: In the event of a confirmed data breach involving your personal information, we will notify you within 72 hours of discovery. Notifications will be sent to your registered email address and will include:
- • Description of the breach and data affected
- • Steps we are taking to address the breach
- • Recommended actions you should take
- • Contact information for further inquiries
7. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to provide our services and fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy.
- • Free Users: Data retained for 90 days after account deletion or inactivity
- • Premium Users: Data retained for the duration of subscription plus 90 days after cancellation
- • Payslip Data: Extracted payslip data (employer, dates, hours) is retained until you delete it or close your account. Original payslip image files are never stored.
- • Payslip Upload Limit: The count of payslips uploaded (max 40) is permanent and does not reset upon deletion to prevent abuse
- • Legal Requirements: Data retained longer if required by law
- • Account Deletion: You can request immediate deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting support@88finder.com
